About the Young Professionals: The AORN Young Professionals Task Force was formed in 2013 to get together and figure out why there are very few younger members (under the age of 40) to replace our ever-aging membership and perioperative workforce. It is being disbanded in 2014, however, that doesn’t mean we’re being forgotten! Stay tuned for great stuff from the National level and get involved!
About the blogger (hopefully there will be multiple bloggers soon!): Carrie is somewhere under 40 but is a 2011 BSN graduate of Louisiana State University. She is a staff nurse at Ochsner Kenner and floats between surgery and endoscopy. Her favorite thing about AORN is the “free therapy” meetings can bring – bad days go away when you know everyone else has the same struggles. A close second fave are the amazing opportunities to get involved on a National level with the organization that governs our day to day practice.
